Health and care organisations who are adopting an ambient scribe can now view NHSE’s guidance: Using AI-enabled ambient scribing products in health and care settings, published 31st March 2026.

This document brings together all the IG considerations for patients, healthcare workers and IG professionals, including considerations of the retention periods for audio, drafts and transcriptions and considerations about consent.
