Deceased records webinar – Thank you to all those who attended this webinar. The recording and the slides are available in the ‘videos’ section of the IG Portal.

Blog – AI guidance from CQC – This is a comprehensive guide detailing what CQC will be looking at when assessing the safety and compliance of the use of AI tools.

Blog – Data Use and Access Act – The Data Use and Access Bill has now been passed into law. The blog highlights the most pertinent changes.

Blog – Staff leavers – revenge of the fired worker – Please remember that you must tell us when a member of staff leaves your practice. The process is simple and is outlined on the blog. You can enter a future date into the leaver’s request, so you don’t have to worry about forgetting.

Blog – Litigation friend – This crops up occasionally so we have put together some information for you to refer to if you have a request for records from a litigation friend.

Blog – Sharing info relating to IBCA – In response to a request from NHSE, we have volunteered to be the single point of contact for requests for information from IBCA for the HNY ICB area. Should we receive a request from IBCA, we will contact your practice straight away.

Blog – Retention periods for MCCDs – Since medical examiners now receive the MCCD for a signature, some practices were wondering what they should do with their hard copy. The blog links to a gov.uk page that asks for these to be ‘securely stored’, with further guidance to be published later this year.

DHSC is asking all organisations that use Medical Certificates of Cause of Death (MCCDs) to review their stocks now and to order any additional supplies as soon as possible to ensure they have sufficient MCCDs to last through the winter. All organisations are encouraged to check they are clear on the ordering process and they have their unique password.
