Process change for re-assigning gender and sex identity for children and young people under 18 in the GP record

NHSE has recently released the following important process change letter that states:

All healthcare professionals should be aware that in response to the review, the Secretary of
State for Health and Social Care has directed that the process for changing NHS numbers
and gender markers for children and young people under 18 is stopped with immediate
effect.

The process change letter is based on the findings of the Sullivan Review.

Please ensure anyone who had the responsibility of re-assigning gender and sex identity to children and young people under 18 are made aware of this.
