AccuRx and Clinical System Audits

An incident recently at a local GP Practice has highlighted the potential for inaccurate system audit logs to be generated. It is vital that any practice using these system logs should review this guidance document and understand the issue that can be present.

Update on audit issue from AccuRx:

  • We have met with NHSD today and showed them how the auditing is working on EMIS, confirming that there is clear differentiation between manual and automated access of the record
  • NHSD will now reach out to TPP to investigate how this can be rectified on their end i.e. how they can surface relevant information in their Audit Trail to note the difference between manual access by a user and API access by Accurx
  • NHSD will let us know once they have spoken with TPP, and they will share with us a communication they will be sending out to all ICS using TPP, for us to review. Therefore, NHSD will be leading on the wider national comms piece discussed
